Another day, another stupid paper to write. Gaaah!

:(

I just got back from the French spotlight event at the Newport Beach Film Festival. It was surprisingly fun. Jesus Christ was there! For real! He was wearing a white suit and carrying a wooden staff. Apparently, the night before, he was going around dressed as a pirate. Upon investigation, I learned that he is a British comedian who likes to dress up in weird costumes and crash parties. He was at the festival to support this documentary.

I also learned tonight that filmmakers are very touchy-feely people with no sense of others' personal space. This I learned from experience. Bleh.

Three episodes of Goong, and now I'm convinced that every single person in Korea has rosy cheeks and clear skin. Jealous!

I posted this entry on my personality profile here a while ago. It made me sound like a total loser, and I was in denial about it. But now, I'm beginning to think it's true. I am all these things:

Trait Snapshot: introverted, irritable, feels invisible, observer, depressed, does not enjoy leadership, reveals little about self, dislikes large parties, feels undesirable, does not like to stand out, submissive, suspicious, emotionally sensitive, not a thrill seeker, solitude loving, likes silence, fragile, second guesses self, negative, unadventurous, fearful, weird, focuses on people's hidden motives, paranoid, phobic, dependent, cautious, avoidant, semi intellectual.

Except, I don't know how phobic I am. Semi-intellectual? More like stupid. I'm pretty damn irritable most of the time, and I sure as hell don't enjoy leadership. Except, some of these things only apply to me at certain times. And today might be one of those times :)

I was sorely tempted to buy a dress at American Eagle earlier, but I didn't. I was sorely tempted to buy shoes at Journeys earlier, but I didn't. I was sorely tempted to buy a laptop at Circuit City earlier, but I didn't. And as a result, I have an extra $300 on my savings account. Woo!

I've been staring at a picture of the dress and the laptop for the past half-hour, though. They're so cute!

Cool, as AAA member, I can get discounts at New York & Company and Payless. Not like I ever buy anything at New York & Co., but it's nice to know that if I'm ever in desperate need of something to wear and am poor, I can always go there and get 15% off in-store purchases. And I haven't bought anything at Payless in a long time, but if I'm in desperate need of shoes to go with the clothes I buy at NY&Co., I can go there and get 10% off. That's 25% off a whole entire outfit!

Double cool, if I don't find anything at Payless, I can go to shoes.com and save 20% on regularly priced merchandise or 12% on sale merchandise.

I can also get 10% off Target by shopping at aaa.com/target, 10% on Supercuts (good, my hair is getting longer again!), and VIP Savings Cards on a bunch of outlet malls! How freakin awesome is that???

P.S. Hey, Ate Kar, you can get a discount on those shoes you want at shoes.com now!

P.P.S Why is Jessica Simpson selling shoes now? I would never ever buy any of her crap! Not even if I can get a discount on it!

P.P.P.S. I still can't get out of my head how dull Amarillo is bound to be. Good thing we get there after sundown, and hopefully leave before sunrise. My eyes won't be able to to take the long stretches of boringness. If I'm wrong about this, push me off the Grand Canyon, you guys!

I'm bored!!! Amarillo, TX is such boring place. I haven't been there yet, but I can tell just by searching for hotels. If the most expensive deal you can find in a city is under $130, that's telling something. Travelaxe can't even give "points of interest" options for the place.

Ugh. I fucking hate Amarillo.

This is so very tempting. My yoga instructor at school runs the studio and has given us free passes (and will give us 10 points extra credit to use the pass). I actually really like yoga. I don't know if it's because it's actually doing me any good, or I like thinking I'm being active at something, or I just like sounding pretentious when I tell people I practice yoga. Also, someday, I'd like to be able to touch my head to the ground when I bend over, do this, and maybe this.

I guess it's fairly cheap compared to the yoga studios I've checked out. But can I afford $100/month? I think my parents are almost serious about trading in the crappy, gas-greedy mazda for something else, and if anything, I'd have to pay for it myself. We'll see...

I want a new car!!! Something more gas efficient. I went to work at 3:00 today, and gas at Arco was $2.93/gal. I got out of work at 9:00, and when I stopped by to fill up, it was $2.95. WTF??? This was at the cheapest station in the neighborhood already. I had a bit of gas left and after putting in $20 worth, my tank was still only half full. At this point, it would cost me $40 for a full tank, which means I'd be spending $80 every week for gas, which means I'd be spending $320 every month just to drive around! That's almost a paycheck! The only other option for me would be to start taking the bus. Ayoko nga! Ang jologs naman nun (no offense, bus riders)! Argh, this stinks!

Question: How gas efficient is a Spectra5?

Today in my Finance class

Professor: ...And just to remind you all, we're not doing the homework for next week anymore. If you look in the syllabus, I assigned a life insurance worksheet for next Wednesday, but for those of you who don't remember, I announced Monday that it's been canceled. I don't know, maybe I forgot to mention it, but I'm pretty sure I did. But for those who weren't listening (LOOKS IN MY DIRECTION), just cross it out of the syllabus. We're not doing it anymore.

In place of it, we're instead going to have a quiz. It'll be a take-home, so you can do it on your own time. And I'm also gonna include a few extra credit opportunities in there, so for those who need it, maybe if you're not doing so well in the class (LOOKS ME IN THE EYE), you could get a few extra points to help your grade.

Hmph. Bitch.

Oh my god, I totally got an A on my Comm 425 test on Monday! How weird! This was the same class I had a test on where I got a D, but was still higher than class average (also, the one where I got a 24/25 on the paper I BS'ed last minute). Shoot, now I'm REALLY higher than class average! I barely even studied. The only studying I did was done in between periods of awakeness during the drive home from Tahoe, when I'm not driving, worrying about loose tire chains, or staring aimlessly at the California landscape. This period must've lasted a total of 30 minutes out of our 12-hour drive. The most I got out of my study materials was use it to protect my jeans from the potential mess I might make while eating a Western Bacon Cheeseburger.

Clearly, I am freakin awesome. Haha!

P.S. Crap, now everyone in class is gonna hate me. Last time, some girl got the same score I did, and everyone hated her because she ruined the curve. I ruined the curve! I'm gonna get jumped at the parking lot!

So there's this lady who lived in our subdivision in the Philippines, and she's apparently one of the PTB at one of the major TV networks over there. On our drive home from Tahoe, they talked about her for a bit. I jokingly (but also somewhat hopefully) suggested that they ask her to hook me up with an internship (I get to go home and fulfill my requirements...it's two birds with one stone!). They thought it was a good idea.

A few minutes ago, my mom told Kandy that she wants to take me to the Philippines after I get back from the road trip so I can do my internship. I don't know how serious she was, but that would be freakin cool! Fullerton doesn't have a study abroad program in the Philippines, but what if I'm just doing an internship? Cross your fingers, people.

ETA: I went to the Jamba Juice at Metro Point today for lunch. It's been a while since I've been, and I was craving my usual drink: choco mood, no sorbet, with strawberries. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I was told that they don't carry that anymore. WTF????????? EVIL WHORES BRING BACK MY DRINK BITCHES!!!!!!!!! So now I'm no longer looking forward to my friendly neighborhood Jamba Juice. What good is it if I can't order my favorite drink anymore? Tae.

ETA again: My period is 24 hours late. This means it's gonna be a bad one. Expect grumpiness all this week. And it better be over by Saturday, dammit, or I won't be able to give my all for broomball. Oh pills, you let be down again big time.

Monday, April 17, 2006

Just got back from family vacation in Tahoe. It was fun, but not fun enough. I blame stupid weather channel. 70% precipitation my ass! We could've gone snowboarding on Saturday too, dammit! But Friday's excursion at Sierra-at-Tahoe was a good enough way to end the season.

(However, I still feel a bit slighted by Saturday's missed opportunity, so if anyone wants to go one last time, say on a weekday at Snow Summit, I'm game!)

I want summer to be here already. Road trip... WOO!

Also, because I am obligated to say this...please everyone support the Newport Beach Film Festival. Pretentious movies and after-parties -- at least show up for the gift bags.

Room with a view:

Ah! I just realized another perk I would get as a AAA member, aside from hotel discounts: Lenscrafters discounts! Which means I can finally get an eye exam (30% off), a new stash of contacts (10% off), and a complete pair of eye glasses (30%). Okay, so it's still pretty pricey, especially compared to the $30 I paid last time for an eye check-up and contacts. But still. This means I can finally replace the contacts that I've been wearing since November. No more wanting to gouge my eyes out at night because of dryness! Woot!

YESSS! Good news! And perfect timing too: right before we leave for the trip. Now I have something to do in the car.

In honor of this most wonderful news, a clip: (from "Rap," in which Lisa is voted Cutest Reporter in New York).

So a few weeks ago, I had these two blemishes right under my nose (among other blemishes, for some reason. Why god why???). They were tiny, red marks. Not bumps, just marks. I was fine with it. Then, about a week ago, tiny red marks started to raise a rebellion against me. And eventually, they formed two little red pimples. Which grew into big red pimples. I was about to name my new twins, but nevermind. Stupid fuckers have decided to merge their evilness into ONE. BIG. FUCKING. RED. PIMPLE. Right under my nose. Bastard!!! It's so red... :(

Current pimple count: 7, more or less. Why god why?????????????????????????

My prayer has been answered!!! They're building a Jamba Juice down the street, two minutes away from me! Not 5 minutes away, down the freeway. Two! And if I walk, it's only about 10 minutes, maybe less if I walk fast. Oh joy!

But my laptop sucks. Dammit.

Tuesday, April 04, 2006

Two things:

1. I got my laptop!!! Woo-hoo!

2. I got an A on the Comm paper I was stressing about a couple of weeks ago. How did that happen? I have no idea. My topic was stupid, it was BS-ed, I didn't proofread, I had to use the courier font AND expand the spacing between characters to reach four pages, which is the minimum requirement. This class is so weird!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Spring break, we hardly knew ye.
